About Annamaria's Deli

Annamaria’s Deli prides itself on its authenticity. There is no mayonnaise, American cheese, turkey, or mustard. Instead, we use quality goods imported directly from Italy, except for our bread, which is shipped fresh from Brooklyn and baked in an oven over 100 years old. No, we won’t tell you where we get it, because it’s our secret, local ingredient to finish off the perfect, fresh sandwich.

We’re the perfect place to search for hard-to-find Italian products. We have items such as salami, soppressata, capicola ham, prosciutto di parma, provolone, Italian fontina, imported mortadella and Italian tuna, and creamy Bel Paese cheese (If you’ve never had it, now is the time!).

There is a long list of sandwich options, as well as a daily roast beef sandwich and an alternating special, such as a chicken-thigh sandwich or sausage and peppers. All hero sandwiches are made with extra virgin olive oil and crema di balsamico, to complete that taste of Italy right until the end.

About the Owners

Tim Salouros and Annamaria Adinolfi were familiar with serving quality, authentic food before they opened Annamaria’s Deli together. Success in the industry already came in the form of an upscale Greek restaurant named Elia, also located in East Rutherford, but the couple always wanted to open a deli. 

Annamaria, who is Italian, grew up in the area and has been heavily involved in the community—which only increased her desire to provide authentic Italian fare to the people around her. This led to the opening of a traditional Italian salumeria focusing on sandwiches, and an accompanying grocery store to ensure everyone can buy the best imported sauces, gluten free gnocchi, etc., directly from the genuine source.

In true Italian fashion, the couple hired someone to come in and make Mozzarella fresh for them within the store walls. He’s been making Mozzarella by hand for about fifty years. They also source fresh Italian breads from Brooklyn daily to guarantee the freshest ingredients possible.

The pair has put their heart into the salumeria and are overjoyed to feed the community hearty, authentic Italian bites.
